Prove it!

The Government of Barbados needs to bring clear proof that Raul Garcia is a threat to national security, or could affect the public good if granted his freedom.

Otherwise, set him free until another country takes him in.

That claim was made by attorney and civil rights activist David Comissiong as the pre-decision phase of Garcia’s unlawful detention lawsuit ended in the No. 12 Supreme Court yesterday.

Justice Margaret Reifer reserved her decision on the matter and informed counsel she would provide written and oral decisions early next year.

Posted by Tony Waterman 5 months, 4 weeks ago: Does International Law not say that Persons like Mr.Garcia must be deported to their last known place of Residence??? in this case that was the MIGHTY United States of America. Now when Bajan Drug Dealers finish their sentences in US Prisons, they are taken from the Prison to the Airplane that will drop them off in Barbados, so why is it that the MIGHTY USA can tell us that they are not taking Mr. Garcia Back and because we need their Tourists and their AID we are like Lambs at the Slaughter. Standard & Poors and Moody's Have already done us their worse, so why don't some one in Government do the right thing and call The USA to Board on this one, or are we going to be like CRISSY and get BULLIED some more.

Posted by Kenneth King 5 months, 4 weeks ago: I have said a lot about this case over the last few months and I know I do not hate this man but I do not feel he should be allowed to be a free man to roam this country because he did his time. ... the USA don't want him back on their shores and Cuba his country of birth does not need him either then what other options are there for him to take. Mr. Comissiong will not take him .... We should keep putting pressure on the USA and Cuba to do the right thing and accept their adopted Citizen and ease our small pocket money for our own.
