LESTER VAUGHAN were no-shows and Queen’s College showed no sympathy.
If you thought everyone was sad to see the title contenders pull out of the tournament, then think again, as QC took advantage of the favourites’ absence to beat up on Combermere 53-44 in yesterday’s Co-operators General Insurance Under-16 basketball tournament opener.
Originally scheduled to play Lester Vaughan in the opener, the Husbands lads looked at home against Cawmere in the Wildey Gym after starting the fourth quarter on a 9-2 run.
And no one player was happier to see the back of the Cane Garden boys than Devon Deane (with ball), seen here scoring a difficult jumper over a pair of defenders. (JM)
