Rihanna’s dress at last night’s 53rd annual Grammy awards was a hit for most Barbadians and Nation online readers.
When Rihanna appeared on the red carpet at minutes to 9 (local time) wearing a revealing Jean Paul Gaultier dress, entertainment reporter Ryan Seacrest remarked that many were awaiting the arrival of the Barbadian singer.
Some readers were bowled over by the dress while others were not in favour of her choice.

Sherry Gittens: “I love the dress – see through or not the most important parts were covered. Get with the programme peeps, she is international whether or not we like it”.
Shaneza Bacchus: “It’s a hit. It’s provocative, stunning and eye-catching. Everyone will be talking about this outfit. I am sure there will be many who will be negative towards Rihanna but who cares? She is a bold and strong entertainer and good for her for making a statement in a sexy and engaging way”.

Not everyone approved of the dress, however.

Nobody should be getting that intimate with your lady parts on the red carpet! (This was a comment made by the fashion police on a website).
Matt Jordan: “Rihanna is a beautiful girl, she doesn’t need something like that to prove it. I can’t even call it a dress. I don’t know what to call it”.
Lynn Marie Carneiro: “…Rihanna is a beautiful, talented young lady and I am sure all Bajans are proud of her achievements in her career. However, she needs to respect her body and herself as a strong capable young woman and not go out into public wearing quasi nothing to draw attention. Let her talent do that”.
