SLICE OF LIFE: Bringing life to Westbury

IN AN AREA WELL KNOWN for being the resting place of the dead, two siblings yearned to create life. This search for life saw them opening up a bar facing Westbury Cemetery just about a year ago.
On Friday night we met up with oneof these siblings, Omar Beckles,at Beck’s Bar in Westbury Road.
Omar recounted a story of growing upin the neighbourhood and seeing a shop in that location. However, the atmosphere was traditional, with the goings and comings of villagers, moving softly as they went their way. He and his brother felt that a transformation could be made to liven up the place.
Accordingly, on acquiring the venue a year ago they decided that a sharp increase in activities was in order.
