COLOMBO, Sri Lanka – Sri Lanka beat New Zealand by three wickets with nine overs to spare in the One-Day International tri-series at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium yesterday.
The Black Caps had thrashed India in the series opener, but B.J. Watling was their only batsman to offer much resistance yesterday, scoring 55 in the total of 192 all out.
Seamer Kyle Mills took four for 41 as New Zealand threatened a shock victory.
But Upul Thuranga (70) and Kumar Sangakkara (48) combined to guide Sri Lanka to 195-7 in the 41st over.
Sri Lanka will play India on Monday. (BBC Sport)
