Saturday night’s road accident – which claimed the life of a 65-year-old woman – and other vehicle collisions have caused the police to appeal again to drivers to exercise extra caution this Crop Over.

The call came yesterday, ahead of the expected increase in traffic for the climax of Crop Over activities at the weekend.

“We still want to appeal to all road users to exercise due care in light of the recent fatality in the hope that there will be no more [deaths].”

Elma Moore, a retired nurse and resident of Fustic Drive, Ruby Park, St Philip, was killed on Saturday when the vehicle she was driving was involved in an accident with another car and a van.
