THE 90 Nigerian students who were supposed to arrive in Barbados yesterday to undertake a year’s study at the Barbados Community College were all tested for the Ebola virus.
This was confirmed by Barbadian Donna St Hill, consultant for the Delta State Youth Empowerment Programme (YEP), who told the SUNDAY SUN that complete medical health testing was a condition for admission to the programme.
“The students are not ill and have recent medical health certificates,” she said. “They have not travelled to Lagos or anywhere else as they have been assembled in Delta State awaiting the final travel date.”
Government has postponed the arrival of the students until January next year so that Barbados can put in place an isolation facility for anyone testing positive or Ebola.
