Talented 28 set for showdown

The die has been cast.

​Twenty-eight talented youngsters have been selected to battle it out in two semi-finals of the annual Richard Stoute Teen Talent Contest. Those semis will be held on October 12 and 19 at Divi Southwinds Resort in St Lawrence, Christ Church.

On Sunday night, the seventh and final preliminary saw a hard-fought battle between Shadia Marshall, Zigge Harris and Adrianna Mayers. Marshall eventually came out on top with 665 points, beating out Harris (656) with Mayers third on 650 points.

Shardinay Worrell and Krystal Watts were both recommended to advance to the semis.

Meanwhile, the Over-21 semi-final was won by Jamal Springer with 626 points, Ryan Eustace was second with 595 and Shanna Walker amassed 453 for third place.

The Teen Talent semi-finalists are Mya Forde, Naheem and Hakeem Wayid, Fazeena Bassalat, Amber Blackman, Anita Charles, Krystal Watts, Krystal Browne, Destiny George, Kayla Alleyne, Romario Adams, Patrona Robinson, Neesha Welch, Kareesa Chase, Jaenalie Harding, Ranaan Hackett, Chereece Richards, Rashida Codrington, Shadia Marshall, Zigge Harris, Adrianna Mayer, Ashley Rahman, Cherish Maynard, Amanda Mascoll, Daryan Jordon, Destiny Ifill, Adonnia Freeman, Tasha Mathurin and Shardinay Worrell.

The Teen Talent final comes off on November 2 at Hilton Barbados.

The 8-12 juniors will compete in their final on Sunday at Divi. The finalists are Diana Price, Amelia Clarke, Naheem and Nakeem Wayid, Destiny Ifill, Ranaan Hackett, Kayla Alleyne, Neesha Welch, Krystal Watts, Kareesa Chase, Mya Forde, Selywn Sivers and Fazeena Bassalat.
