They waited all day for the meeting with Prime Minister Freundel Stuart, and though they were tight-lipped at the end, the Alexandra School teachers had something to smile about as they left Government Headquarters, Bay Street, last night.

The teachers are looking for a resolution to the ongoing impasse between more than half of the teaching staff and principal Jeff Broomes.

Here, (from left) BSTU president Mary Redman  leaving the meeting with attorney Hal Gollop; head of the English Department, Leslie Lett; former general secretary of the BSTU, Patrick Frost, and second vice-president Erskine Padmore. Inset, Stuart having an exchange with members of the Press.

It is really strange to see an Attorney in the midst of all this confusion and I am sure that Hal Gollop (who seems to be gaining popularity with regular appearances on TV8), is familiar with the ex parte doctrine and its ramifications.
I trust that Jeff Broomes has himself a competent attorney to deal with this.
