FORMER CHAIRMAN OF the Police Service Commission (PSC) Sir Trevor Carmichael and former deputy Commissioner of Police Bertie Hinds could be among a number of witnesses to face cross-examination when hearing in the civil case challenging the non-promotion of 15 police officers gets under way in the High Court.
​According to sources, acting Commissioner of Police Tyrone Griffith could also face questioning by lawyers representing the aggrieved officers.
Reports indicated that the possible cross-examination of some witnesses formed part of the deliberations in the pre-trial review which was held in chambers before Justice Margaret Reifer yesterday.
Further hearing has been adjourned until December 5.
It was under Sir Trevor’s chairmanship, when the officers claimed their promotions in the Police Force were turned down and an alternate batch accepted by the PSC. Â
