THE West Indies Under-19 cricket team is going for gold.

And as the 15-member squad prepared to leave Barbados yesterday for Australia to take part in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, hopes and expectations among the squad were high.

In an interview with MIDWEEKSPORT at the Grantley Adams International Airport, manager Courtney Walsh said he expected the team to do exceptionally well.

In fact, Walsh, the former record holder for the most Test wickets, said they would win.

“This team has the quality and the depth to go all the way.
