WHERE HAVE ALL the students gone?

That is the big question officials at Cave Hill campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) are asking now that registration for continuing students has ended, and that for new students moves into the third day today.

With just five days to go before teaching gets under way, sources at UWI said fewer than 5 000 students had registered up to yesterday, a slump from the just over 9 000 registered last year.

It could not be ascertained how many of those registered were final-year students.
