NAYAN WARRINGTON’S kidneys may be failing him but his faith is not.

The 26-year-old gospel artist said God was evident in the fact he has received BDS $9 000 from reinsurance company Manulife Re., which has brought him to around half of the more than CAN $147 000 he needs for a kidney transplant. He was at Manulife in the Goddards Building, Haggatt Hall, St Michael, today to receive the cheque.

This donation came about after one of the letters for help written by Warrington’s parents Martin and Rosemund Warrington was delivered to Manulife by unknown persons. Charity co-ordinator Odessa Lowe said the letter joined the other requests they had as part of their annual donation.

“We got the letter and I reviewed it and put it on a ballot form. We have an election process to see who we are going to allocate funds to and Nayan won. The timing was really appropriate because if the letter had come just a little later, the funds would have already been allocated and we would not have been able to help at all,” she said.

Warrington said he was thankful for Manulife’s help and was firm in his belief he will get the transplant on time with the required funds.

“I believe keeping optimistic and positive and not thinking about being doomed or anything keeps me able to do everything I have to do,” he said, adding he would be releasing his second album soon. (CA)
