Water outages in some parts of the island

Crews from the Barbados Water Authority are carrying out further repairs to a 12-inch main which ruptured yesterday and early today in Highland, St Philip.
A release from the BWA stated that the main burst yesterday afternoon along with a 16-inch main in the same parish. Both were repaired last night by BWA crews but the release noted that the 12-inch main ruptured again sometime early today.
As a result some Christ Church and some St Philip districts were without water since yesterday.
The BWA stated that water tankers have been despatched to the affected areas.
It further stated: “The Authority is also today Monday investigating a problem that has caused some St Andrew and St Joseph districts to be without water. Reports of suspected burst mains in Crab Hill, St Lucy and Foster Hall, St Joseph have been received by the BWA and are being investigated as well. The suspected bursts appear to have affected the immediate surrounding districts only”.
Crews are also working in these areas and water tankers have been sent out to assist residents. (CM/PR)
