Yesterday morning at one o’clock on the dot, Settlers The West Coast Experience moved off from the Esso Service Station at the bottom of Holders Hill and brought the West Coast to life.

The Os Barbados-themed carnival is a heritage tourism project highlighting the history of Barbados. It was divided into five sections: Os Barbados, Portuguese, Navigation, Royal Expedition and Ao Brasil.

Despite the large crowd on the road, the event was incident-free.

The midnight costume carnival, now in its second year, ended at Trents with breakfast for participants.

The route was divided into four zones: the Paint Zone; Glo-Zone; Mud Zone; and new this year, Foam Zone.
