What’s Trending: Alexandra Inquiry

Tue, July 03, 2012 - 1:17 PM

The Nation’s Online Editor Carol Martindale looks at What’s Trending today in Barbados.

Some online readers are following the Commission of Inquiry into the Alexandra School dispute.

The Inquiry started yesterday with Principal Jeff Broomes admitting that he did not consult with department heads when hiring temporary teachers.

This is what some readers had to say.

Wayne P Hoyte: “Sometimes when you are in an environment where negativity exist you have to bypass the negative people and get the job done. Not a popular move but a better move than fighting with others.”

Angela J Thompson Branch:  “ If he had teachers around him who were will to work inspite of their differences for the good of the children …..regardless of this outcome I see a man with the welfare of children at heart and I am standing by him.”

John Herbert: “Wow!! The testimony of one person and victory is declared!”

I support the idea that Mr. Broomes could not deal with the negative people he was working with; so he knew he had to get the job do so he did what he had to do to get the job done..!
