The Nation’s Associate Editor, Sherie Holder-Olutayo takes a look at what’s trending .
Today’s front page story in the Daily Nation has touched the hearts of people around the nation who are offering prayers and sympathy to the parents of the baby that died tragically yesterday. The five-month-old baby was found just after midday in the back seat of his father’s car. Here are some comments from our online readers.
Lisa White: My heart goes out to both parents and their family and friends. R.I.P little one.
Linda Freeman: How tragic for this family and I cannot fathom how this father feels but it must be devastating so to the public “Do not judge so that you will not be judged” Matthew 7:1.... things happen so let us as a community pray for this family in their time of loss.
Karin Browne: I can understand forgetting about leaving your wallet on top of the car after gassing up, forgetting to turn the TV off, etc - but forgetting your child ?
Rosemary Wall: This is very sad news and as a Nation let's lift up this family in pray. Rest In Peace little Angel!!
Shelaine Prince: Poor Baby. My heart goes out to all affected. No parent should have to bury their child. R.I.P Baby.
Julia Holder: Don't be quick to judge people...I know the father personally and I know that he has nothing but unconditional love for all his children...hang in there buddy.
Damien Applewhaite: This is a very sad story and can happen even to the most dedicated parent. RIP Ethan.
Maria Buckley: My heart goes out to the grieving family. In this hectic world we sometimes get caught up. I hope he can get over this one day.
Sofia Lyn: It's easy to pass judgment but this could happen to anyone. So very tragic, this is not the first time it has happened. Such a tragic loss. We often hear about incidents like this in North America. The dad will have to live with this guilt for the rest of his life. So sad all around.
Cherylann R. Johnson: It doesn't matter what happened.....now please don't get me wrong... its just that I can only imagine the pain both parents are going through right now........ once upon a time I would say how could this happen but I've lived a long life since then and realise that all kinds of things happen....my condolences to the family....
