The Nation’s Associate Editor, Sherie Holder-Olutayo takes a look at what’s trending today in Barbados.

The Alexandra School Inquiry and the plight of principal Jeff Broomes continues to be a hot topic among our online readers. Today’s story in the Weekend Nation which stated that Jeff Broomes is willing to return to work with the same teachers demanding his removal has our online readers buzzing. Here are some of their comments.

Carolyn Robertson: You may be good at your job but there is too much hate in this job. Quit while you are ahead.

Suzette Lashley: So much hatred towards one man, I think this is disgraceful, seriously.

Conchita Moseley: It more than a disgrace: This man, Principal Brooms has to be a strong man. How did he not go under?

Guitarz Evolution: Mr Broomes is not an idiot , he is firm, straightforward and candid. It is evident that he is a man that can work his way around wicked people who play childish games. My hats off to you sir.

Kenneth King: It all sounds good but it will not work, the wounds are to deep and the boiling of this eruption were gathering larva with multiple gases for many years; with its exploded elements and spread across the country there would never be calm. The second eruption needs only a small trimmer which could cause more harm than good. Therefore the olive branch is not going to work in this case.
