Today’s story in the Sunday Sun, “Jail Unrest” which revealed reports of unrest among prisoners and a critical food shortage has our online readers buzzing. Here are some of their comments.
Andrew Atherley: Barbados have so much agricultural land here over run with bush, why not plough the land and let de prisoners grow some food.
Sharon Woolley: True they are people, but you commit the crime -you pay the price, you don't expect Sandy Lane It’s time Barbados made plans to build another prison.
David Aplmac: Every prison, worlwide should be required to grow most of (if not ALL) of its own food: be self-sustaining and no drag on the public purse! VAT could be reduced by 1% if this were made a reality!
Deswyn Haynes: Barbados prisoners living better than the citizens!! I feel some of dem deserve hard labour.
