The Nation’s Associate Editor Sherie Holder-Olutayo looks at what’s trending today in Barbados.
In a time when so often we are bombarded by negative images and news of so many youngsters today, it is inspiring to see a young man that refuses to allow himself to be influenced by his peers and has a focus and goals set for himself.
It seems that our online readers were also inspired by Paul and his story. Here are some of their comments.
Roberta Walcott: Congratulations to Paul and his Mom, great attitude, keep it up!!
Sharon Woolley: This boy could teach many members of parliament, teachers, men and boys his own age just how to behave, he is a credit to his mother, if only more his age were like this. Congratulations Paul and Paul's mum.
Another story that many are discussing today is “Gun worry” especially given the recent stories in the Weekend Nation and the recent gun violence. Here are some comments from our online readers.
Roberta Walcott: I would like someone knowledgeable to educate me on the correct procedure for gun disposal of old and discarded weapons. Do these go to the Commissioner for confiscation? Who is responsible for disposing of the guns.
Sandra Greaves: All developing nations should petition the UN and implore the US to sanction the gun manufacturing industry that is now out of control, rampant and dealing death.
