The Nation’s Online Editor Carol Martindale looks at What’s Trending today in Barbados.
Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler says political attacks on the Governor of the Central Bank Dr DeLisle Worrell is dangerous.
He believes such attacks destroy the image of the Bank as well as the professionals who work there.
This issue has our readers talking this morning.
Raquel Gilkes: “So Chris does not take issue with (1) the constant political statements made by the governor of the Central Bank; or, (2) the fact that the statement by Dr Worrell directly contradicts Chris' own position? Instead Chris attempts to attack the Opposition?”
Jason Greenidge: “When you politicians start caring about the grim future of the youth in Barbados and not yourselves. The youth feels there is no hope because of this crime rises, Aids rises and the trust in the Government falls … so I beg you all care more the youth.”
Sharon Woolley: “You cannot blame a government for a rise in HIV or young mothers......contraception is available and it's common sense, not political and by the way - worldwide people are finding life is hard with money and jobs, but for certain Barbados must get the gun crime sorted…”
