What’s Trending:Broomes should say sorry

Fri, July 13, 2012 - 10:32 AM

The Nation’s Online Editor Carol Martindale looks at What’s Trending in Barbados today.

Alexandra School chairman Keith Simmons yesterday said he believes principal Jeff Broomes should apologise to the entire teaching staff at the school, for having called out a senior teacher during the school’s speech day celebrations last December.

Our readers have been responding to this comment.

Raul Singer: “This whole inquiry is a waste of time and the taxpayers money. What is the final cost of the inquiry going to be? Why should a Principal say sorry to a year head of Science…”

John Da Silva:  “ I agree. At the end of the day, this will achieve nothing.”

Chris Hassell: “It is painfully obvious to casual observers in the general public that Mr. Broomes and the teachers can no longer co-exist in a professional working environment. I would like an inquiry into this Inquiry. Specifically, how much money has this cost the Barbados Government to "investigate" this matter. Surely Alexandra School has areas that are in need of repair or perhaps the science lab needs equipment? Such a waste of time and money.”
