The Nation’s Online Editor Carol Martindale looks at What’s Trending today in Barbados.
Readers are responding to the frustration expressed by Minister of Agriculture Dr David Estwick about that sector.
Estwick today criticized Government for failing to invest more heavily to transform and reposition the sector. He has threatened to resign if he does not get support in his mission.
Ace Beckles: “About time some real initiatives be not just suggest but done in the Agriculture Sector. It’s been overlooked too many times. Someone needs to stand up in that Government administration and be a leader. Go Estwick! He is a doctor so he ain't there to make any sport and waste his time any more.”
Ricky Walters: ‘Will cool heads prevail or is this a disaster in the making. I guess time will soon tell. Mr. Prime Minster please please show some leadership."
Devaron Bruce: "You mean the Ministry of Agriculture .. which has been on life support for decades"
