Tue, April 24, 2012 - 9:07 AM
The Nation’s Online Editor Carol Martindale looks at What’s Trending today in Barbados.
Prime Minister Freundel Stuart says Government is considering helping out REDjet, but former Minister of Tourism Noel Lynch says the financially strapped airline should not get one cent from the administration.
Stuart believes if they could subsidize American Airlines, it would be difficult to defend not helping out REDjet.
Readers weighed in.
Jeff Logan: “Am I the only person who didn't know that we subsidise AA to the tune of "millions of dollars? They really need Bajan money?”
Fabian Peters: “They are under contract with Barbados that is why in hard times they cannot reduce flights coming to Barbados but they reduce US domestic flights instead.”
The return of Alexandra School teachers to the classroom is another story trending this morning.
Some readers say they are getting sick and tired of this issue and called for it to be resolved.
