Multitalented Barbadian Jason Wilson valiantly tried his best with a lion-hearted effort in yesterday’s Sprint Triathlon Pan American Cup, but it wasn’t enough.
The hopes of an entire nation, which had rested on his shoulders, gradually disappeared when the lone Caribbean entrant in the swimming, cycling and running event faded after a bright start to finish 12th among the world-class competitors.
In the cycling segment, Wilson (gold jersey) maintaining a good position behind eventual winner of the men’s category Daniel Unger, Germany’s 2007 triathlon world champion and sixth-place finisher at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. (EZS).
