Young boxers on show

In a move?to push the future of the discipline, the Amateur Boxing Association of Barbados showcased some of its youngest members on the Road Show 2 boxing card last Saturday night at the Netball Stadium.
Nine bouts were on the card featuring boxers from the National Gym, Four Hill Gym, Briar Hall Gym, Thunderbird, Belfield, the Barbados Defence Force Sports Programme (BDFSP) and Shaka Boxing School.
Boxers ranged from the pinweight through to the heavyweight division.
Among the pinweights was Jabali Breedy of the National Gym, who beat gym-mate Kumi Israel on points.
In the lone female bout in the same division, the referee stopped the contest and awarded the bout to Mary Fraser of the National Gym over Belfield’s I’Precious Lythcott.

Bantamweight 56kg: Kemar Gaskin (Briar Hall) defeated Joshua Fields (Four Hill) – referee stopped contest (RSC/3); Ajayi Jones (Briar Hall) def. Javon Forde (Thunderbird) on points.
Pinweight 42kg: Mary Fraser (National Gym) def. I’Precious Lythcott (Belfield) RSC3; Jabali Breedy (National Gym) def. Kumi Israel (National Gym) on points.
Lightweight 60kg: Akeem Brathwaite (Briar Hall) def. Chvanni Forde (Thunderbird) on points; Tahj Farley (BDFSP) def. Ezra Lorde (Belfield) on points.
Light welterweight 64kg: Shaquille Denny (National Gym) def. Edissa Mitchell (Belfield) on points.
Welterweight 69kg: Shaquille Goring (Thunderbird) def. Stevenson Lythcott (Belfield) on points.
Heavyweight 91kg: Akeem Isadore def. Kishmar Husbands (Shaka Boxing School) RSC/3. (SAT)
