I think that twenty/twenty cricket is a way for players to make a quick buck that is not a bad thing seeing the westindies cricket board dosen't want to pay them anything anyway.

I am going to have to quote Sachin who referred to 20/20 as desserts, and who wants to eat only desserts? My personal preference are Test matches, it gives players a chance to rest, regroup and return (if time remains) if they are looking at the tunnel at the end of the light!

Each format of the game has a place in the sport. Unlike Test and ODI, T20 requires players who are able to adapt and respond rapidly to quick pace situations. Not every Test or ODI player is necessarily a 20 player. This means that specialist players can claim a place in each version of the sport.

It is a total disgrace and a farcical set of circumstances that this great game is being threatened by this 20/ 20 cricket. I think the proponents of this shorter form of the game are all just in it for the money and know nothing or care very little about the history of the game. The current set of players,probably minus the Australians care little and put their pocket books and self interests first...... and I dont blame them when the relative Boards can only pay paltry sums to keep players on retainer. This being said , cricket......that is TEST Cricket is under greater threat now than at any other time ..., not WW1, WW2, Kerry Packer and the advent of one day cricket..., Cronje and the betting scandals ,. In my view the only thing that will save Test Cricket is time....because this travesty that is on display in 20/20 s will not stand the test of time.What may need to happen is for the ICC to remove official sanction or establish a CRICKET CHAMPIONS LEAGUE,,,where instead of 5 tests series between two opposing teams...a more competitive structure is set up.. I refuse to pay US 79 to see home-run cricket from every ball, we see that for free in baseball!!

I don't believe that 20/20 threaten the other formats of the game. What i do think is that it provides opportunities for new players to come to the limelight and with this shorter format we may even see non traditional countries such as the US taking up the sport and making it bigger.

T20 Cricket : 6/10/2009
Test cricket demands too much time. Nobody has time now to sit for five whole days to watch a single cricket game. T20 is more appealing. The entire family can now go to a match in the afternoon and know they can reach home in time for school and work the following day without the stress of thinking to go again the following day, especially if we are loosing. It is also more exciting and exhilarating to watch the teams try to make their runs. They are more creative and and more athletic. Test cricket is dying. One day - not bad. T20 is the new fad that is here to stay.
