FLYING FISH & COU COU: Caught in the act

Published on: 2/6/2010.

A PROBE into a certain department has unearthed such damning evidence that a well-known civil worker could find himself standing before a magistrate, or judge.

Cou Cou has received confirmation that the individual, who has certain responsibilities, out-sourced certain contractual works without going through any tendering process.

The varied tasks amounted to almost $400 000. But that is not the greatest howler.

Word is that the official outsourced the works to himself. Yes, to himself!

He apparently formed a company and gave himself the work, ignoring every financial rule of Government.

But the questions which need to be answered are: Why is he not on suspension?

And when will he appear on the court pages?

LOST IN LAS VEGAS

LOOKS LIKE the sins of a certain individual have started to catch up with him.

He might have thought he had licence to do as he pleased in the past to those around him - females especially - but now he will never get licence to do what he really wants.

Cou Cou understands that this individual has been crying like an old lady that he is losing $80 000 monthly in his business, which some say he has prostituted.

But people are viewing his words with great suspicion as he usually makes these proclamations every time he returns from his overseas trysts with slot machines, roulette tables and poker games.

It is understood that he recently sought to get some investors to put their monetary muscle behind him, but his antecedents are not the best when it comes to trust and there were no takers to his overtures.

If he is eventually forced to sell the valuable property no one should be surprised, but many are hoping for the sake of employees that all is not lost.

TIGER IN THE WOODS

HE DOESN'T play golf nor does he have the millions of the American Tiger Woods. But their stories are almost the same.

Word is that a certain politico's relationship with a young thing has been brought to light after she was seen sitting in his lap in the veranda of the apartment for which he pays $1 500 monthly.

But while the lover boy is enjoying the favours of his young fling, supporters are warning him that he should be careful since she has told a friend in confidence that she will reveal all to his wife and family if he does not deliver the house and land he promised her by year-end.

If that happens, his strong baritone could become a squeak in the face of wifey's fury.

ON THE WAY OUT

IT APPEARS that one particular politico could be a certain casualty in a few years time.

Cou Cou got the word on the goings-on in a specific riding and was told that even the politico's people were pleading for someone else to replace him.

Residents who endorsed him more out of frustration with his opponent, than for any hope that he brought, have indicated openly that they would now put their mark for the late Doctor Rat first, before they gave the politico another endorsement.

One man told Cou Cou the politico's energies have been directed more to increasing Barbados' population and being on the doorstep of a well-known businessman, than working in his community's interest.
