CDEMA appoints deputy

The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) has appointed Elizabeth Riley as deputy executive director.
Riley, who joined the agency in 2001 as a project officer, took up her new position on April 1.
Since 2009 she has been acting as Deputy Executive Director with responsibilities for providing strategic leadership in the core business area of the Agency’s work programme, with a focus on advancing the implementation of the Comprehensive Disaster Management Framework and Strategy. She has championed the introduction and consolidation of the results-based management approach in the CDEMA system.
As Deputy Executive Director, Riley will be head of the new Disaster Management Division and will also be responsible for the strategic and technical leadership of the Disaster Risk Management (DRM) programme of CDEMA. (PR)
