Contractor in custody
Wed, February 22, 2012 - 8:40 AM
The building contractor who allegedly bilked people of thousands of dollars, leaving a trail of bounced cheques at building supply companies, is now in police custody.
The Guyanese national who has been living in Barbados for several years was held while shopping at a Christ Church supermarket on Monday night, a day after the SUNDAY SUN broke the story.
Police Public Relations Officer Inspector David Welch said yesterday that the suspect had been detained for questioning.
“We are conducting investigations into several reports which were received by the police” he stated. (MB)

Well, Well, Well!!!!
I hope that son-of-a-gun paid for those groceries he was purchasing from the supermarket in legal tender and not by using counterfeit money nor cheque, otherwise they (the supermarket) may be another victim..
The Courts need to make an example out of him to show the contractors that they cannot continue to swindle people out of their hard earned monies. However, it may be wise also for people who are planning to use the services of contractors, to do their due diligence first before signing any paper or handing over any monies.
These are not days to lose any amount of money regardless of how small a sum it may be.
