VAUGHN ROAD, ST JOSEPH, is not a pretty sight.
A section of the road which collapsed in 2008 is yet to be repaired. In the meantime, the Ministry of Works has erected two sets of steps made of bricks to accommodate pedestrian traffic, but that is starting to give way as well.
“They are still a hazard as they are crumbling too.
It is madness and a disaster waiting to happen. Last week the signage got destroyed and a tourist almost went off the edge in a car; he barely stopped in time. [The signs] only now get put back,” said Joseph “Shabba” Greaves.
He also complained of poor lighting, as “at night you can’t see yourself”, which fosters crime.
