Dottin not meeting with British women

COMMISSIONER OF POLICE Darwin Dottin has declined to meet two British women allegedly raped in Barbados in October 2010, but who insist the man charged by police is not their attacker.

Dottin insisted yesterday that while their case was before the court it would be “improper” for him to meet with the two.

The women, Rachel Turner and Diane Davies, flew to Barbados last week to lend their support to Derick David Rudolph Crawford, the man police arrested and charged with their rapes. They believe the police have charged the wrong man.

The women claimed a meeting arranged between them and the commissioner for yesterday was cancelled by Dottin.

Posted by Pan Wallie 6 months, 3 weeks ago: Here are victims stating that they had told the Police upfront, that they (Police) had the wrong man. Obviously these women are not prepared to assist in prosecuting this man, so what is the delay in dismissing the case against the accused, Crawford? come on, Mr DPP, the Court still has a huge backlog.

Posted by dirty okra 6 months, 3 weeks ago: I don't blame him. If I knew I arrested the wrong man and that a rapist was still at large I wouldn't want to meet with the people that had been raped either.

Posted by Kenneth King 6 months, 3 weeks ago: As far as I am concerned this case is closed, if two victims give evidence that this is not the person who raped what are the cons in keeping the gentleman behind bars. We make big things out of small things, now do we really want this to be all over the British News media that they have told the prosecutors that this is the wrong but still being ignored, do they not know their assailant; after all that culprit did show his face.
