Dottin: We have the evidence

As a campaign is waged by two British women who are adamant the wrong man has been charged for their rapes, Commissioner of Police Darwin Dottin has insisted that the evidence suggests otherwise.

Dottin issued a statement to the MIDWEEK NATION yesterday in response to claims by Rachel Turner and Diane Davies that Derick David Rudolph Crawford was not their attacker.

The two women, who have waived their right to anonymity, were raped in separate incidents in Barbados in October 2010.

They also allege that the 48-year-old accused was hurriedly arrested to save Barbados’ reputation as a tourist destination.

“The team of investigators who were tasked with investigating these assaults are firmly of the view that the evidence strongly supports the decision to arrest and charge Mr Crawford,” Dottin said in a statement he also sent to a British newspaper.

Posted by Alicia Osborne 6 months ago: What is Mr Dottin on? He obviously has evidence for another case. How embarrassing this could be for all when 2 supposed victims take the stand and state under oath that the man sitting at the defence table is not the accused. Get off your high horses and release the man for these rapes he did not commit. If you think he committed other rapes or crimes get the victims of those but don't continue to stand your ground on sand before the water comes and washes it from under you. Doesn't make any sense to me. This is a wastage of taxpayers' money in these economic times.
