IT WAS A double Shaq attack at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre on Saturday night.
Dynamic young Turk Shaquile Lavine accomplished the rare feat of capturing the junior and senior Barbados titles in the same night while Shakira Doughlin extended her unbeaten run in bikini fitness contests with another emphatic triumph.
The stage was the 2017 National Bodybuilding and Physique Championships and before an audience that included former world-class bodybuilders Bernard Sealy, Albert Scantlebury and Harcourt Skinner, Lavine and Doughlin took centre stage on the programme that stretched for five-and-a-half hours.
It was just after midnight when Lavine was crowned Mr Barbados for winning the final posedown with super middleweight Ramon Broomes. At 21 years and ten months, the former Princess Margaret student is one of the youngest ever Mr Barbados champions. (MK)
