Verdun House estimates that its drug rehabilitation programmes have helped more than 75 per cent of its clients return to a much improved quality of life.

And according to Verdun’s director of operations Bernard Pooler, more than half of the 650 people who have passed through that institution never returned.

In an exclusive interview with the SATURDAY SUN at the Royal Westmoreland Golf and Spa Resort on Thursday, Pooler said that although he did not have definite figures to support this claim, evidence suggested that Verdun House was doing an exceptional job in helping to get people reincorporated into society.

He maintained that judging the success of the institution was not as simple as merely referring to statistics, but that it should also be measured by the enhanced quality of life after going through the rehabilitation programme.
