Health a top priority at Accra

ENSURING THAT STAFF MEMBERS ARE HEALTHY for work and fit for life was the focus of the Accra Beach Hotel & Spa’s health festival on Tuesday.
Human resources manager Philip Chandler said the health and safety committee was looking at the different ways to make the workplace safe and ensure that staff members take control of their health.
“We live very stressful lives, so we feel that the organization should not just be a place for working constantly. We need to ensure that we have healthy employees, so we decided that we would have an annual health fair for employees to promote health and wellness in the workplace,” Chandler said.  
Chairman of the health and safety committee, Gena Coulthrust, said they wanted to educate the employees and bring about awareness because it had been found that workers did not see  the need for medical  and insurance plans.
