Jamaican entertainer Busy Signal was denied bail when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court today. Resident Magistrate Stephane Jackson Haisley made the ruling following a bail application by the entertainer’s attorney K D Knight. Knight immediately informed the magistrate that the defence took issue with her determination and requested her reasons in writing. The case is set to be mentioned again on June 6. ‘Busy’ was arrested on Monday on an extradition warrant.
The artiste, whose real name is Glendale Goshia Gordon was held by members of the Fugitive Apprehension Team of the Organized Crime Investigation Division at the Norman Manley International Airport. He had just arrived on a flight from the United Kingdom. Busy Signal was reportedly travelling under the name Reanno Gordon. The dancehall entertainer allegedly absconded bail and fled the United States. He is reportedly facing charges of possession of cocaine, conspiracy to possess cocaine and distribution of cocaine. The charges reportedly stem from a 2002 incident. (Jamaica Gleaner)
