Cheryl Grazette and her limbo fire lessons. Two bountiful girls in Kadooment costumes gyrating. Trevor Eastmond emceeing and making Rawle Eastmond jokes. Bajan delectables – check. Full bar – check. DJ Matthew spinning the latest music – check.
That was the scene at Legends Pavilion Bar & Bistro in Fontabelle, St Michael, on Wednesday when the WEEKEND NATION stopped by.
The informal atmosphere was the right setting for the mature crowd, which grew in numbers for the lunchtime buffet and performances, that entertainment coordinator Keisha Christian says has been a regular feature since last year Crop Over.
“From adverts in the newspaper to word of mouth, patrons have been enjoying the Wednesday lime.
“Regular clientele of locals and visitors have seen  the crème de la crème of Barbadian musicians and entertainers perform here,” said Christian, who herself has performed at the lunchtime social.
Regular rotations of John King, Pompey, Blood, Biggie Irie, Grynner, Serenader have graced the venue, enticing diners with their repertoire while patrons feasted on the varied menu prepared by executive chef Mark Gaskin.
“The food is really just part of the drawing card,” explained Christian.
“We have had food themes such as Far East, Far West and local cuisines,” she said, while keeping an eye on Grazette, who had just lit her limbo stick and was preparing to go low.
When asked which big names were up next, she said she could not ruin the surprise.
