FORMER OPPOSITION LEADER Mia Mottley will be seeking a “private audience” with Barbados Labour Party (BLP) head Owen Arthur this week to discuss the Rawle Eastmond issue and other matters.
The meeting will be her first one with Arthur since the change in roles.
Breaking her near 15-month-long silence on party matters, except with respect to the amendment of the party’s constitution, Mottley told the DAILY NATION yesterday that she was doing so with “a heavy, heavy heart” because the circumstances demanded that she did so.
Even though he holds the seat in the House of Assembly, Eastmond has been told that he has to take part in a run-off to determine who will be the BLP’s candidate for St James North in the next general election.
