TWO LIFE BANS.

A one-year sanction. And a series of multiple-game suspensions.

Seems the big blows didn’t end with the Warriors-Cougars brawl.

Along with fighting, local basketball won’t have any room for brothers Kirk and Tremaine Shaw after both Warriors guards received the maximum penalty for their roles in the bench-clearing brawl that brought a premature end to a Premier League contest on April 14.

Their life bans were just two of seven suspensions – ranging from the maximum sanctions to a pair of seven-game bans – handed down by the Barbados Amateur Basketball Association’s (BABA) disciplinary committee yesterday.

“I certainly hope that a strong message has been sent and that the offending players stop the nonsense that they’re doing and help to clean up the sport,” said BABA president Derrick Garrett, who witnessed the brawl.
