THE PINE HILL DAIRY (PHD) has voluntarily withdrawn its half-litre (500ml) whole and two per cent milk from retail shelves.
The products included are ½ litre Ultra Pasteurized Fresh Whole Milk, with best before dates of September 12 and 13, and ½ litre Ultra Pasteurized Fresh two per cent Reduced Fat Milk with the best before date September 13, the dairy announced late yesterday.
“This cautionary action comes following PHD’s quality assurance team’s detection of premature spoilage in three batches of ½ litre whole and two per cent milk with the date codes above and batch numbers 11165FM01, 11166FM01, and 111662FM01. All products have already been removed from supermarket shelves.
“As a precautionary measure, PHD is asking consumers who may still have some of this product in their possession, to return it to the Customer Service Department at B&B Distribution in Newton [Christ Church] where it can be exchanged for a 1-litre carton of Pine Hill milk,” a statement from the dairy said.
The dairy is also asking that consumers unable to make returns to B&B Distribution should call the Customer Service Department at 418-2973 during office hours and after hours 253-8473,233-6627 or 232-7490, so that arrangements can be made to collect the milk. (PR)
