THE?PRIVATE SECTOR is fully on board with organisers of the Magical Island Safari tour which yesterday saw 45 children from across Barbados being taken on the annual excursion.
Julie Dash, managing director of Hannah Properties and the brainchild of the tours, lauded the sponsorship coming from the private sector and Barbados in general in spite of the “economic stress”.
At the start of the tour at Emerald City, St Philip, Dash said the sponsorship amounted to hundreds of dollars in value.
She said the children were nominated by the public and she was happy to do the tours, now in their fourth year.
After breakfast provided by Emerald City, the children travelled to Monkey’s Jump at Edgecliffe in St John, to Bathsheba, St Joseph and Cove Bay in St Lucy. The tour ended with lunch at Moon Town in St Lucy, with Denis Kellman, Member of Parliament for the parish.
Entertainer Red Plastic Bag, broadcaster Patrick Gollop and Mac Fingall, entertainer and former teacher, are part of the current team.
“We want to make it a truly magical day for the kids,” said Dash. (JS)
