Smiles at Almond

Former employees of Almond Beach Village breathed a sigh of relief yesterday when they finally received letters advising them of when they will be paid.
The Heywoods, St Peter resort officially closed its doors on May 1, but staff were in limbo as to when they would receive monies due to them.
The letter said that they would receive various monies on May 24, July 15 and August 31.
Some staff members said they were uneasy because they were hearing rumours that management of the cash-strapped hotel would not have been able to give them all of the money which was owed. They said they were satisfied that the payments would finally be made.
