“Most unfortunate.”
This is how Sweet Soca Monarch Red Plastic Bag has described the controversial developments in this year’s competition.
According to Bag, it was regrettable that a competition so young had been placed in a situation where its integrity was being questioned.
He spoke against the backdrop of Edwin Yearwood withdrawing from the Sweet Soca Monarch competition and the National Cultural Foundation’s (NCF) decision to rejudge it. (CAT)

Eventually NCF will see the need to stop and 'take stock' of it operation. Some how the current form of evaluation (if any) is not working. The thing needs a total revamp and first and foremost on the order should be the eradication of all the political interferers and deadheads still looking for a berry. The Foundation needs structure and standards and we have enough well qualified, independent, non partisan people in Barbados who can do the job.
