It was the fifth annual fund-raising tea party organized by the Cancer Support Services and it was their largest turnout ever.

Close to 200 patrons enjoyed the afternoon of tea and entertainment at the Yacht Club on Bay Street last weekend when women journeying with cancer brightened things up with songs and chic fashion, while some of the men bravely, in an impromptu act, ventured on to an improvised catwalk to model, much to the amusement of the crowd.

Executive officer of Cancer Support services Jan Lynton told Social Scene she was heartened by the response and particularly by the performance of  the group called Victorious Ladies, whose impressive rendition of Josh Groban’s You Raise Me Up was met with sustained applause.
