SOMEBODY IS OUT  to get me.
That, essentially, is how Dr Alfred Sparman explained, at a press conference yesterday, why he has not been registered by the Barbados Medical Council as a cardiologist.
Giving a rundown  of his qualifications and training in the United States from general practice, to internal medicine, cardiology and nuclear cardiology, Sparman said he was more than qualified to work in the field and had demonstrated this over the years so much so that he was inducted as a Fellow of the American College  of Cardiology (FACC)  in February.
“If the Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC),  which is one of the most prestigious cardiology organizations in the world can bestow upon me this honour then there seems to be other reasons apart from qualifications and experience that are used to determine my specialty registration status,”  he said.
“This situation is not about qualifications or experience. Is it jealousy?
I don’t know; but these are the facts and let the public decide,” added Sparman as he related two cases in which he improved the quality of lives of patients who had first attended other specialists here.  (SP)
