The Nation’s Associate Editor takes a look at what’s trending today in Barbados.
The news of the suspected rape and murder of Nicole Harrison-Watson has left several of our online readers in shock. The 37-year-old mother was found in her Black Rock, St. Michael home yesterday by her brother. Here’s what some of our online readers had to say:
Mhizz Smily-Thomas: What really happening in Barbados though???? This is so sad.
Jamar Jones: What is going on within the heads of some of the people of my country though? This is tragic!
Conchita Moseley: Who would do a thing like that ? The woman could not fight back. She did not have a chance. Tied up like an animal, the person did not care. The fact that the person tied her hands behind her back tells you what his intentions were. My condolences to this family, especially her daughter. How awful is this? Can anyone imagine the pain the family is suffering? Tragic!
Janine Greaves: Please people remember there are family and friends of this family.... Pray that God comforts them in this extremely hard time.... my heart is heavy with this loss, have not stopped shaking or crying since I was told.
Margaret Ross: This is horrible and sad! Reading that her hands were bound, leads me to believe this poor woman was murdered. Find who did this and quickly! My sincere condolences to Nicole's family and friends.
Charles Alleyne: My condolences go out to a young lady family who study with me at University Cave Hill, which I have known to be very quiet and intelligent. May the help of God this person is found and brought to justice. Her family will be in my prayers.
