An afternoon dispute in The City has left a Christ Church man dead.
Tyrone Bourne, 21, of Lead Vale, is believed to have been stabbed in an incident with an unidentified man at the corner of Bridge and Fairchild streets just after 1 p.m. yesterday. Bourne’s body was identified by his parents.
Eyewitnesses said the two men were in a brief scuffle in the road. After they separated, the victim crossed the road and collapsed face down on the sidewalk close to the entrance of the Fairchild Street Bus Terminal.
The other man reportedly ran through an alley and escaped in the area of Nelson Street.
Police public relations officer Inspector David Welch is appealing to the public for help in identifying the alleged assailant by calling the Criminal Investigations Department at 430-7189 or the 211 emergency number.
He said the suspect was of slim build, dark complexion, bald head, wearing a red and grey hat, three-quarter dark grey jeans pants, gold and grey shoes and a T-shirt of unknown colour.
