A pain to listen to

Do radio stations have any moral obligation to their listeners? Imagine having to endure the below scenario on radio in the 21st century!
Announcer: We have another caller on the line?
Caller: Yes, good morning.
Guest: Good morning. How are you today?
Caller: I am not too bad.
Guest: You have some issues with your lower back, don’t you?
Caller: Yes, a little pain in the lower back.
Guest: I am working on it as we speak. Drink a little water right away. (Pause) Have you done that?
Caller: Yes.
Guest: You are feeling better now, right? The pain has gone?
Caller: Yes.
Guest: Come in and see me.
Caller: Okay.
I have only heard female callers. I wonder if there is any significance in that.

What is your take on Owen Arthur bowing out of elective politics? Is he going at the right time, too soon, or should he have bowed out before?

Bajans are 99% literate, but by the simple fact that this "show" continues (ie, they are making money), it suggests a lot of us are also 99% gullible. Reminds me of what a teacher once told me about "education": When done well, the objective is to teach us HOW to think, not WHAT to think, and education continues until one' last breath. Would be laughable, if hard-earned money was not being pilfered away.
