No need to change captain

It is time that the West Indies Cricket Board graduates from the concept that the captain holds the key to the success of the West Indies cricket team.
While I agree that the captain has a role to play in guiding the team, at the end of the day teamwork is fundamental to success.
Each member of the team has to contribute significantly in every aspect of the game. It takes commitment and dedication, in addition to cooperation from team members, to consistently achieve the dominance that will restore West Indies to former glory.
Team members have to demonstrate responsibility and an understanding of the importance of being selected to represent West Indies. Hence, being industrious, focused and disciplined is essential to victory.
Over the years, the captain has been blamed for the failure of the team. This often resulted in the captain being changed. However, has this action proved to be of any value?
Changing the captain, in my view, will not contribute anything significant to the team’s success. Instead, the selectors should constantly review each member’s performance, including the captain’s, in effecting decisions.
Hence, there is no need to change the captain.
